My mixed ability classes are fun and busy, filled with focus, as well as chat, tea/coffee and biscuits! I generally offer a theme over a 6/7 week period (discussed with the group first), and we may do some drawing, followed by paintings in a variety of media.

This might be watercolour, acrylics, Water mixable oils, charcoal, pen and wash, mixed media (fancy term for more than one medium in the picture). We tend to stick to one medium as a group per subject, but some people may ‘go rogue’ and pursue their own choice of medium and subject which is no problem at all. Having taught 26 children, each doing something different, a class of 12 adult with a few variations in approach is marvellous! I will see each person individually several times during the session, as I constantly go round and give support and feedback as people paint.

Beginners - In September 2025, due to popular demand, I am starting a beginners art group on Tuesday afternoons in Hangstones Pavilion in Yatton. This will focus in the first term on drawing skills, using pencils, charcoal and pen and wash. We will move on to other media after Christmas - watercolours, acrylics. Drawing will give you the foundation skills for moving on to painting, and I guarantee you will improve- It’s about learning how to see, then learning how to draw. Beginners classes are my favourite as it is wonderful to see your progress and ensuing delight! Please click on the Enquiry button and I will send more information.
